My New Kitty

When we are traveling to Grandma's house in San Antonio, I can NEVER pass up a trip to the Pottery Barn outlet. I do love more of a modern sensibility, but like to mix it up with a few traditional pieces. I have scored some amazing deals at the outlet over the past years. Last month on our road trip to Round Top, I purchased a PB Teen quilt for $25 that regularly sells for $159.
This time around, the bargains were very few...but I got an awesome leopard rug for the master bedroom that I have been hunting for...9 x12 for $250!
I was inspired by the great Miles Redd...can't wait to see what it looks like at home!

My favorite smell!

They look so cute until they let loose on your animals...yes, my puppies both got sprayed tonight. We live out by the lake and this seems to happen so frequently that we have all the supplies handy just in case. We have found that hydrogen peroxide and baking soda work the best with a vinegar rinse...supposedly the bubbles release the skunk oil.

My eBay bargain!

I scored a knockoff lounge chair from eBay last week!
I can hardly wait to get my hands on it! Currently it has a blue-greenish upholstery and I am thinking of trying to clean it since the color is not that bad with my decor...OR I may reupholster it in some great large print fabric like the ones below...the possibilities are endless!

We took our kids to the Dallas Arboretum this afternoon to The Great Pumpkin Festival!

I have never seen so many different kinds of pumpkins before! My kids really enjoyed the storybook houses made out of pumpkins. Evidently it is the only pumpkin village in the world! Their favorite pumpkin house was Cinderella's home. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the weather couldn't be more perfect.

Master Bedroom Blanc de Chine Lamps

I am working on finishing up decorating my master bedroom and needed a pair of fabulous lamps. I was inspired by the lamp below and scored a pair of blanc chine figurines on eBay that are just beautiful. They were such a bargain too!

I finally ordered the lucite bases and am now just waiting for them to be made. If you are looking for a similar look, I suggest asking your local lamp store for a supplier of lucite bases. I already ordered all the lamp parts from http://www.bplampsupply.com/. They were really helpful in getting all the correct washers and nuts! Look for my post next week with more details & photos on how to assemble!
